Keith Kelt
President & Portfolio Manager
L. Keith Kelt is a veteran of the financial
markets, having guided investors since the 1960s. He oversees
all operations and directs all research and investments for
clients of The Kelt Group, LLC (TKG).
Mr. Kelt, a native of Portales, NM, graduated from Eastern
New Mexico University (ENMU) in 1964 with a B.S. in Finance.
He began his career in the securities industry in 1967 as
a broker at Quinn & Company (now Southwest Securities)
in Clovis, NM. In 1983, Mr. Kelt joined Shearson American
Express (now Smith Barney), rising to the level of Senior
Vice President of Investments. He co-founded TKG in 2001 and
became its first president.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Kelt has achieved
extraordinary success. While still in college, he won the
Wall Street Journal Outstanding Student Achievement Award
in 1964. He served as a visiting professor of portfolio management
at ENMU in 1978-79. During his career at Smith Barney, he
was consistently an elite producer, named several times to
the Director’s Council, which includes the top 5% of
producing brokers.
Mr. Kelt now makes his home in Montecito, CA.
